The Route: The Real Amsterdam
From historic landmarks to hidden alleyways. A mix of quiet canals, the bustling Dam Square, and a deep dive into the Dutch mindset.
A Story Begins at the Station
We meet near Central Station, in front of a significant historic building. Here, we set the stage with a powerful opening story about the city's past. We move away from the crowds immediately, entering the quiet canal belt to understand why locals and travelers alike fall in love with this city.
WWII & Liberal Soul
Walking along the peaceful canals, we peel back the layers of history. We discuss the impact of World War II on the city and dive deep into the concept of Liberal Amsterdam. What does freedom really mean here? Using photos and books, I’ll help you visualize the stories of resistance and tolerance.
Dam Square & Monuments
We step briefly into the energy of the city center. We visit the famous Dam Square to admire the Royal Palace and the National Monument. I’ll explain the significance of these highlights, connecting the Golden Age wealth to the modern city buzz.
Tulips, Water & Economy
We leave the noise behind again and dive into the quiet, secret alleyways of the old town. Here, we talk about the "Dutch DNA": the obsession with Tulips, the incredible Water Management systems that keep our feet dry, and the economic miracles of this trading nation.
Coffee, VR & Conversation
We finish our journey at a cozy café. Enjoy a coffee and a local sweet (on me!). This is where we slow down. You can try the VR experience to travel back in time (Visit of Anna Frank house via VR), ask any questions, and simply chat. We end with a Polaroid photo to remember the day.
