  1. 01

    Keukenhof Gardens 3 hours

We start the day at the "Garden of Europe" Keukenhof. I hand you your ticket and you have 3 hours to wander freely among 7 million flowers. Breathe in the beauty at your own pace. Nature decides the exact bloom, but Keukenhof is always a fairytale.

The Tulip Field Hunt Bonus · Apr 12 – May 3

From approximately April 12th to May 3rd, we extend our flower discovery beyond the park. After Keukenhof, we venture out to find the vivid tulip fields in full bloom, aiming to stop at two selected locations for breathtaking photos without the fences. Please note: Nature sets the schedule. The exact blooming window depends entirely on the weather conditions of the year.

    Traditional Farm: Cheese & Clogs

We visit a traditional farm to see how things are done the old way. You will see a demonstration of how wooden shoes (clogs) are carved and how famous Dutch cheese is made. Of course, a generous cheese tasting is included!

Volendam Fishing Village Free time + surprise tasting

Next, we head to the famous harbor of Volendam. We start with a surprise tasting. Then, it is free time for lunch! I will reveal the insider spots for the best Kibbeling (fried cod) or fresh Herring (and more). You can walk the dike and soak in the atmosphere.

Zaanse Schans Smart timing · afternoon

We save the windmills for the afternoon. Why? Because we visit when the big crowds are gone. It is the perfect time for photos and a relaxed walk among the historic wooden houses and industrial windmills. We discuss water management and history as the day winds down.

    Zaanse Schans

The Dutch puzzle, connected.

The Flower Powerhouse

Did you know the Netherlands exports nearly 7 billion flower bulbs annually? On this tour, we go beyond the "pretty picture." We connect the pieces of the past regarding the ultimate symbol of the Netherlands. We explain the general history of the tulip, the fascinating facts, and the statistics including the true story of Tulip Mania (1637).

Zaanse Schans: Industry, not Drainage

Unlike common polder mills, the mills here were the world's first industrial factories. You will see how they powered the Golden Age by sawing wood for ships, pressing oil, and grinding spices.

The Polders: Land from Water

Without historic water management, there would be no dry land for the cows (Farm/Cheese) or the flowers (Keukenhof).

Volendam: Trade & Fishing

Discover the fishing history of the former Zuiderzee that fed the nation before the dikes were built.

Got Questions?

Everything travelers ask us about this tour.

  1. Q 01 When is the best time for Tulips?

Keukenhof Gardens is open from late March to mid-May. The open production fields (the colorful rows outside) usually bloom from mid-April to early May. Nature decides, but our guides know exactly where to find the best blooms on any given day. In any case, "Keukenhof" itself is always a floral fairytale.

  2. Q 02 What happens if it rains?

This is the Netherlands, so weather can be unpredictable! Do not worry. Our mini-van is cozy and warm. At Keukenhof, there are large indoor pavilions with flower shows. The flowers actually look more vibrant in photos on cloudy days!

  3. Q 03 Is lunch included?

We include generous tastings (cookies, cheese), but a full lunch is not included to give you freedom. You have free time in Volendam to choose what you like, fresh fish, chips, pancakes, or sandwiches. We are happy to give recommendations!

  4. Q 04 Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes! Kids love running around in Keukenhof, seeing how cheese and clogs are made at the farm, and exploring the windmills. Our mini-van is safe and comfortable for families. We can provide child seats upon request (please let us know in advance).

  5. Q 05 How much walking is involved?

The tour is active but relaxed. Keukenhof is a large park, so expect to walk, but there are plenty of benches to rest. In the villages, the pace is easy. We park close to the sights with our mini-van, minimizing unnecessary walking compared to big bus tours.

  6. Q 06 Can I join as a solo traveler?

Absolutely! Our small group setting (max 8 people) is perfect for solo travelers. It feels more like a road trip with friends than a formal tour. You will never feel lost in the crowd.
