All the ways to spend a day.

Five tours, one rule: eight people max on every EcoEcho-run tour. Spring tulips, year-round windmills, Friday cheese markets, weekend Christmas markets, anything in between.

A small group, by design.

Most day trips from Amsterdam load forty strangers onto a coach and call it a tour. We do the opposite. Every public EcoEcho day is capped at eight guests, so the day moves at a human pace. You ask the question you actually want answered, you linger where it matters, and you skip what does not. It is the difference between watching a place through a bus window and standing in it. Smaller groups also tread lighter: fewer people, slower travel, more time on foot and by bike, less of the rush that turns a country into a checklist.

What a day with Antonis looks like

Antonis is a licensed local guide who grew up telling stories, and he guides in English, Greek and Dutch. A day with him is a live conversation, not a script: the real history of the tulip and the truth about Tulip Mania, how the Dutch took their land back from the water, why the windmills of Zaanse Schans were the world's first industrial zone, what actually happened in this city during the war. Between the talking there is room to breathe. Free time in Volendam for the best kibbeling, a generous tasting at a working cheese and clog farm, a quiet tulip field the big buses never reach. Tickets, transport and the small comforts are handled, so you can simply be there. More than two hundred guests have left reviews close to five stars across Google, GetYourGuide and TripAdvisor, and most of them mention the same thing: it felt personal.

Pick your kind of day

These small group days come in a few shapes. In spring there is the famous one: Keukenhof in full bloom, the hidden tulip fields, Volendam and the windmills of Zaanse Schans in a single day. Year round there is the Alkmaar cheese market on Friday mornings, a walking tour through the liberal and wartime history of Amsterdam, easy countryside rides by bike, and in winter the Christmas markets of Brussels. Use the filters above to find the day that fits your dates and your pace. If nothing lines up, a private day can be built around exactly what you want.

Small group tours from Amsterdam: FAQ

How many people are in a small group tour?

Eight at the most. Every public EcoEcho small group tour is capped at eight guests, so you are never lost in a crowd of forty and there is always time for your questions.

Where do we meet?

It depends on the tour. Walking tours meet at De Silveren Spiegel, Kattengat 4, a five minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal. Day trips by van leave from near Centraal Station. Your exact meeting point and time are on your booking confirmation.

What languages does Antonis guide in?

English, Greek and Dutch. Antonis is a licensed local guide, so the tour is a live conversation in your language, never a recording.

What happens if it rains?

The day goes ahead. This is the Netherlands, so we plan around the weather, with covered stops, the indoor pavilions at Keukenhof, and a warm van between sights. Tulips and canals often look their best under soft grey light.

Can I book online, and what about cancellations?

Most EcoEcho tours book instantly online with live availability. Each tour shows its cancellation terms at checkout, and you can read the full cancellation policy any time.
