Volendam, Marken & The Polders
The ultimate Dutch cycling experience. Ride from Amsterdam North to the picturesque villages of Waterland, visit a cheese farm, take the boat to Marken, and return via the scenic dikes.
The Loop Route
Broek in Waterland & Monnickendam
We take the ferry to Amsterdam North and cycle straight into the serene Waterland landscape. First stop: Broek in Waterland, known for its pastel wooden houses and history as a retreat for wealthy merchants. Next, we visit the historic harbor of Monnickendam.
Authentic Cheese Farm
Between the villages, we visit a real Dutch cheese farm. You'll taste fresh Gouda and other varieties, watch a short demonstration of the craft, and see how the animals live. A true taste of the countryside.
Volendam Harbor
We cycle along the famous dike into Volendam. Soak up the lively atmosphere of the harbor, check out the fishing boats, and maybe grab a fresh fish lunch (we know the best non-touristy spots!).
The Marken Express
Rest your legs! We board the ferry (ticket included) with our bikes for a scenic crossing over the lake to the former island of Marken.
Marken, Uitdam & Zuiderwoude
After exploring Marken's unique green wooden houses, we cycle back via the dike connecting it to the mainland. We pass through the tiny, picturesque villages of Uitdam and Zuiderwoude, enjoying stunning views of the water and birdlife before arriving back in Amsterdam.
This is an active tour (~60km). Participants must be confident on a bike and comfortable with this distance.
