EcoEcho Tours runs a private Keukenhof day from Amsterdam with licensed guide Antonis Iliadis. Your group is collected door to door from your Amsterdam hotel in a private van, spends as long as it likes in the gardens, follows the tulip fields that are actually in bloom that week, and stops at a family run farm and at Volendam. Guiding in English or Greek, maximum eight per van.

At your pace
We start the day at the "Garden of Europe". Since this is a private tour, you are not rushing to catch a bus. I hand you your tickets and you have plenty of time to wander freely. Want to stay longer? No problem. It's your day. Around 3 hours is usually perfect, leaving plenty of time for the other stops.
Apr-May bonus
Between April 12th and May 3rd (nature permitting), we go off the beaten path. With our private vehicle, we can access smaller roads and hidden fields that big buses can't reach. We'll stop for photos wherever you want, ensuring you get that perfect shot without the crowds. After that, one more surprise stop to get a little closer to local life.
Tastings
A quiet stop at a working family farm where two old Dutch traditions still happen by hand. You see how authentic Gouda is produced from fresh raw milk through aging on wooden boards, and watch a craftsman shape a pair of klompen out of a single block of poplar on a traditional lathe. The cheese you taste is the real thing, made on site, not the supermarket export version. Visits like yours put money directly into a small family business keeping Dutch craft alive.
Lunch at leisure
We head to the harbor of Volendam. We start with a surprise tasting and a short guided walk, then you enjoy lunch at your leisure. As a private guest, you can choose where to eat, from a quick herring stand to a nice sit-down restaurant overlooking the IJsselmeer. I'll share my top local recommendations.
Flexible timing
We aim to visit the windmills when the bulk of the crowds have left. Walk among the historic green houses and industrial windmills.
A private day is not the same day with fewer people in it. It is a different day, because nothing is fixed except the fact that it belongs to you. Here is what that means in practice, from the moment we pull up outside your hotel to the film that lands afterwards.
Private guests are collected from their own hotel or apartment in Amsterdam and dropped back at the same door. No meeting point, no standing outside Centraal Station with a coffee looking for a sign. Our group tours meet at the station. This one comes to you.
You spend most of this day inside a vehicle, so it matters. We run new cars and mini-vans, and Antonis is a licensed guide, VOG screened and first aid certified. On the small back roads between the bulb fields, that steadiness is the whole point.
The weather here changes its mind by lunchtime. On a private day we simply reorder things. Rain at eleven, we take the farm and the harbour first and save the gardens for the clear light later. You are never locked into a printed schedule.
We look for the honest route rather than the convenient one. With a private van we take smaller roads, follow where the fields are genuinely in bloom that week, and stop wherever the light is good. A big bus can do none of that.
The drive is part of the tour. In the car we talk about the past, the present and the future of this country, you ask whatever you actually want to know, and there is a lot of laughing. People are often surprised that the road stretch turns out to be their favourite part.
Car, mini-van or bus, we always look for the greenest feasible solution for the group we are carrying. Not a badge on a website. A choice made each time a vehicle is booked for a private day.
Antonis arranges the tastings himself, and he picks family run places where the work is still done by hand. Never a purely touristic farm built around coach parking.
Water is provided on every trip. There are books in the van too, so if you want twenty quiet minutes on the road while someone else naps, you have something good in your hands.
Antonis can bring a VR headset along on request. It is not part of the standard day, so mention it when you send your dates and he will pack it.
Lunch in Volendam is yours to choose, and you will not be choosing blind. He lives here. He will tell you where the fish is worth queuing for, where the coffee is good, and what is worth doing in whatever town we end up in.

Amazing tour with amazing guide! Antonis is so knowledgeable and makes the tour so much fun. He has a joyful personality! Our day was filled with not just Tulips but unique experiences like a visit to a clog and cheese maker and fishing village. Original windmills too! And, he timed our stops at each location to avoid the most crowded times at each one. We loved that it was a small group in a very comfortable minivan, and a great Spotify Playlist of Antonis favorites!

We run this private Keukenhof day for travel agencies and tour operators, schools and universities, and companies. You get one named licensed guide who stays with the group all day, guiding in English or Greek, and a programme adapted to your clients rather than to a timetable. For larger private parties we add vehicles on the same route, and we always look for the greenest feasible option for the size of the party. Tastings are arranged by hand at family run places, water and books are on board, and every group leaves with a short edited film they can share, which tends to do more for your feedback forms than any brochure. If something goes wrong on the road, your clients are with a local who knows what to do.
