What guests write after the day is over

I guide many days a year, and around ninety five percent of them end with somebody writing something. Not a line and a star either. People come back and write the whole day out: which village, which field, where we stopped, what the weather did, what they ate.

I am Antonis Iliadis, a licensed tour guide in Amsterdam, and I guide these days myself, in English or in Greek.

Read some of them

What they write about.

The same places keep coming back, because those are the days people book most.

Keukenhof and the tulip fields. The garden itself, and then the actual flower fields around it, which is the part most people are really hoping for and the part that needs the right week and the right hour. Guests write about being there before the coaches and about finding the fields still in colour.

Zaanse Schans and the windmills. Working windmills, wooden clogs being made in front of you, and cheese you can taste rather than photograph. It is the day that turns up in more reviews than any other single stop.

Volendam and Edam. The old fishing harbour, the houses along the water, the cheese town next door. This is where a Dutch day trip stops being a list of sights and starts being a place people remember.

Giethoorn. The village with canals instead of streets, reached by boat, usually in the same day as the windmills. Guests use the word fairytale for it more than any other word on this page.

Amsterdam itself. The canals, the old centre, the Jewish quarter and the story of the war, the Anne Frank house from the outside, the streets people walk past without knowing what happened on them. Walking days, and days that start here before heading out into the country.

Between them these are the days that most of the writing below is about. Every one of them is a small group, guided in person, in a minivan or on foot, and every one of them is bookable.

A few of them, and what I take from each.

Their words exactly as they wrote them, spelling and all. Guests have called me Antonius and Adonis and both are staying.

Outstanding Day Trip from Amsterdam, Highly Recommend Antonius! We had a wonderful day traveling by mini van from Amsterdam to several iconic Dutch sites with our guide, Antonius from EcoEcho Tours. Our stops included the breathtaking Keukenhof Gardens and surrounding tulip fields, the charming windmill village of Zaanse Schans, where we enjoyed wooden clog demonstrations and a delicious cheese tasting, and the picturesque harbor town of Volendam. Our guide Antonius was a total delight. He had a great sense of humor, high energy, and genuine enthusiasm that made the entire day enjoyable.

Antonis A tulip day is really a timing problem. Keukenhof, the fields, Zaanse Schans and Volendam in one day only works if somebody has already worked out what time to be where.

Spectacular. We took an all-day small group tour with Antonis, and had an amazing time. Antonis, who is from Greece, couldn’t have been more knowledgeable, personable, engaging, friendly, or enthusiastic. He is extremely outgoing and an expert guide. The highlight of the tour was the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens and the tulips, which was concluded with visits to the fishing village of Volendam, a Dutch farm to taste amazing cheese and finally to the city of Zaanse to see old windmills. You can tell that Antonis loves life and is an amazing ambassador for Amsterdam.

Antonis The Greek part surprises people. I am from Thessaloniki, I have lived here ten years, and I guide in Greek or English depending on who is in the van.

Amazing tour with amazing guide! Antonis is so knowledgeable and makes the tour so much fun. He has a joyful personality! Our day was filled with not just Tulips but unique experiences like a visit to a clog and cheese maker and fishing village. Original windmills too! And, he timed our stops at each location to avoid the most crowded times at each one. We loved that it was a small group in a very comfortable minivan, and a great Spotify Playlist of Antonis favorites! We would highly recommend this tour and any other tour with Antonis!

Antonis This is the sentence I am proudest of on this page. Timing the stops around the crowds is most of the job, and it is invisible when it works.

I have joined Volendam, Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn tour in the minivan with accompany of Adonis. It was a great experience to visit these magical places especially with the great tour guide who has a lot of energy and love for his business and country. We saw a lot of beautiful places, had some breaks to take the breath in and drink our coffees in front of the canal view. If I come again to Amsterdam I will definitely select Adonis for my next adventures. Thanks a lot!!

Antonis Giethoorn, Volendam and Zaanse Schans in one day is a lot of country. The coffee stop by the water is not filler, it is what stops a full day from feeling like a race.

Antonis was amazing during all daylong, we were travelling with 4 kids and he made the best to engage them! Beautiful tour and amazing spots of Holland, I wish I had booked with him also for my tours in Amsterdam instead of other operators. The van is new and clean, Antonis' advices on where to go and what to see were perfect, he took us to the sites we wanted to see at the perfect timing not to be too crowded. He suggested a nice restaurant in Volendam and the farm he chose for the cheese/clogs visit was perfect for the kids. I strongly recommend you choose him for your Holland trip and follow his suggestions, everything will be perfect!

Antonis Four children, a whole day. Small groups are not a marketing line, they are the only reason a day like that can bend around the people in it.

Cannot recommend this trip enough!! I am a major over-researcher and I was looking for a day trip to see the tulips and scoured Reddit, TripAdvisor, Viator and GetYourGuide before finally settling on this tour. I knew I wanted to see actual flower fields besides just going to the garden. I also really wanted to try and visit a village outside of Amsterdam. This trip checked all of those boxes. So glad I went with this trip because A) our guide Adonis was amazing B) a small group means you can pivot and make changes if needed. It wound up raining half way through the day so we switched around the order of things. You can't make those kinds of changes on a mega tour bus.

Antonis She checked Reddit, Tripadvisor, Viator and GetYourGuide before booking. I would rather be chosen by somebody who did that than found by accident.

I would rather you read them somewhere I cannot edit them. All three of these are my own listings, and the reviews there are the full set, not a selection.
