Christmas markets from Amsterdam.

Amsterdam does not have the market. Brussels does, and it is a long enough day that how you travel decides whether it is a pleasure or an errand. Two ways to do it: your own group in a van, or eight people sharing one.

What people ask about December.

Is there a Christmas market in Amsterdam itself?
Not on the scale people picture. Amsterdam has small seasonal markets and the light festival, but the large traditional Christmas market that most visitors have in mind is in Brussels, about three hours away. That is why this runs as a day trip rather than a city walk.
How long is the day to Brussels and back?
It is a full day. The private road trip runs door to door from your accommodation in Amsterdam; the small-group day meets at Centraal Station at 09:00. The market opens at midday and runs to ten at night, so the shape of the day is built around having real time there rather than a rushed hour.
Private or small group, which should we take?
Private if you want the day built around your own pace, your own stops and nobody else in the van. Small group if you are happy sharing with up to eight people and would rather spend less. Both are the same route and the same guide.
Can we go on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve?
You can, but know that the market closes at 18:00 on 24 and 31 December rather than 22:00. If the evening lights are the reason you are going, pick another date. Antonis will say so when you ask.
When should we book?
December dates go before the others, and the private day has one van, so the date is either free or it is not. If you already know your dates, ask early and hold them.

Ask about your dates.

One van, one guide, and December fills from the weekends inward. Tell us the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is open.
